Today, I will be reviewing the simpex rgb light that I bought for 3500 rupees from a physical store. This review will focus on whether or not the light is appropriate for use in YouTube videos or DSLR wedding shoots.
In the box, you will find a TYPE-C charging cable, a camera mount, and a manual. The warranty for this product is one month, which is provided by Amazon. However, since I purchased it from an offline store, I did not receive a bill or any warranty with the product.
The build quality of this light is quite sturdy, as it has an aluminum frame. Compared to other lights, it is quite slim and almost the same size as a smartphone, which makes it very portable and easy to carry around. There is an on/off switch located at the top of the light. On the backside, there is a 1-inch display that shows information in a yellow and blue combination.
There is a button on the side labeled "M" which stands for modes. There are a total of three modes that can be selected using this button. The first mode is for normal cool or warm temperature, with a minimum warm temperature of 2500k and a maximum cool temperature of 8000k, which can be adjusted using the select switch. The brightness can be controlled using the wheel, with a maximum brightness of 1200 lumens.
The second mode has an interface where you can select colors. The "H" button can be used to select the hue, while the "S" button can be used to set the color intensity or saturation. You can navigate through these options by pressing the select button.
The third mode is for light effects and has a total of seven modes, from "A" to "G", each with different patterns. The first mode, "A", has three different patterns: Flash, Fast Flash, and TV Mode, which gives the illusion of a television screen.
The second mode, "B", has two patterns: Candle and Flame 1 and 2.
The third mode, "C", has three patterns: Police, Ambulance, and Firetruck.
The fourth mode, "D", has three strobe light patterns: Strobe Light 1, 2, and 3.
The fifth mode, "E", has three patterns: Chase Slow, Chase Mid, and Chase Fast.
The sixth mode, "F", has three patterns: Firework 1, 2, and 3.
The last mode, "G", has three patterns: Club 1, Club 2, and Romantic. These effects can be used for professional YouTube videos or pre-wedding videos.
After switching off the light, if you press the mode button, it will display the battery level. The charging port of the light is a Type-C port, and all charging information is displayed on the screen, including the estimated charging time. The USB A port on the light can also be used to charge other devices like a power bank.
The battery size of the light is 4000 mAh, so it can run for up to 1.5 hours at maximum brightness and 5-6 hours at low brightness, which is sufficient for my usage. Overall, I am quite impressed with this light. In this budget, it is one of the best RGB video lights available, and I would rate the lighting effects 10/10. What are your thoughts on this light?
